As I searched for an inexpensive alternative to Canon's TC80N3 the primary criticism I found in the reviews I read for the Satechi TR3MAA that it lacked an on and off switch. The Satechi developers must have read the same reviews. The most recent TR3MAA version now contains an on and off switch. I also discovered that contact with Satechi's tech support department in response to any of my questions has been both prompt and informative.

The remote has basicly all the same functionality as Canon timer remote, but costs near half of that. No big pluses, no minuses, just saves your money. Works with all Canon cameras with compatible connector (means all non-Rebel DSLRs), not just only with the listed.
The minor omission, it does not have off switch and does not have sleep mode, so uses battery all the time. Hopefully does not use it too much - no recharges yet.

I recently purchased this timer remote to do some night shooting (star trails primarily) with my 40D. I didn't feel like the Canon timer remote was worth $140, so I decided to give the Satechi timer remote a try. It works exactly as it's supposed to. The build quality is adequate, and I have no worries about throwing it into a gadget bag and hauling it around with me all evening.

The remote arrived well packaged and very quickly from Satechi.

The remote that I got has an on/off switch and does everything the Canon timer remote does. What more do you need to know? It works great and at half the cost of the Canon timer remote! It's a no brainer. If you need a timer remote, get this one.

UPDATE: Satechi contacted me directly to make sure I liked the product. I am incredibly impressed with their customer service agents who were very helpful and seemed to care whether I was satisfied with my purchase or not. A+ to Satechi!

The 5 stars is for the drive itself. For the software, I'd give it a 4 at most.

I love this flash drive! I love the retractable port. It's reliable and very large (virtually)... lots of space! I am cautious about flash drives because of data security so haven't used one in awhile.

I like the idea of the software. It's easy to use. It doesn't appear to load any software on your hard drive or change the registry. It just loads the backup software to RAM. You can password protect the drive and can back up a little or a lot. Do incremental backups when you need to, or archive the last backup so you can do a new one. When password protected, you cannot see any data whatsoever without the password. You can't even access the drive itself without it (can be a good thing or a bad thing).

The software itself is kind of buggy (I am using vista 32 on one unit and XP on another). Sometimes it would work in one USB port but not the other. Not sure why. I had a problem with the software one time and had to reinstall it. Sandisk was very prompt in responding to my email about where I needed to go to find the software.

I am cautious about depending on this one drive for any important data because of the software, so I do backups to multiple media (it's always a good idea to do that anyway). But overall, I have confidence in Sandisk and would recommend this product.

Before I bought this I asked if it would work with Windows 7. I was told YES by SanDisk technical support. Well, it does NOT work with Windows 7. The drivers are incompatible. I can use it on my friends computer using Windows XP. I can use it on my work computer using Windows Vista. But when I try using it in Windows 7 the drivers start to load, are found incompatible and then the drive is useless. I spent hours trying to talk this over with SanDisk technical support. They just ran me around in nonsensical circles. I'd tell them the Wondows 7 operating system has reported the drivers as incompatible and they would tell me the SanDisk drivers come pre-ploaded on the drive and will work with Windows 7 therefore there is no problem. I'd say, but it is not working and they would tell me to contact my computer manufacturer. I'd tell them it is the SanDisk drivers that are not working and they would tell me SanDisk drivers come pre-ploaded on the drive and will work with Windows 7 therefore there is no problem.

This is not the only problem with this product, which I could see testing it on my friends computer. It is slow, REALLY SLOW. I tried to transfer a big block of date and it took about 6 hours. Granted it was a lot of data, but when I used a different thumb drive it took about 45 minutes.

Ny suggesting is "DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT".

I enjoyed reading the RSV for many years but was disappointed with the NRSV for its lack of consitency and its awkward implementation of "inclusive language". The ESV is a very well done updating of the RSV. It retains the literalness, accuracy and eloquence of the RSV while updating the language to modern usage. It takes a more consistent and sensible (in my opinion) aproach to inclusive language. I always found the NIV language to be too simplified and the NASB too rigid. The ESV reads beautifully (even better than the NKJV) and has become my preferred translation over the many I have tried. Finally, a suitable replacement for my old, beloved RSV. I was also glad to see that this edition does not have a red letter New Testament. Somtimes its hard to find a nice bible that isn't red letter.

This black genuine leather bound edition seems to be very durable. The gold-edged paper is strong and thick enough so that the printing on the reverse side of a page doesn't bleed through much. It has wide margins and the print is easy to read. I expect (and hope) it will last for many years of daily reading. It comes with pretty good CD-ROM software that lets you quickly look up passages on the computer (It would be nice if there were a Mac version instead of just Windows) and cut & paste them into a word processor.

ESV Thinline Bible (TruTone, Charcoal, Crown Design) Review by doxtorray (Glendale, AZ)

I have been waiting for an ESV that had enough room for copious notes. The "Journalling Bible" was not it (the type was too small and thus the space for notes on each verse was limited). The "Deluxe Reference Bible" came close, but had margins that were just a bit miserly.

The "ESV Single Column Reference Bible" is an excellent bible for study. The ESV translation is one of the best, and the page arrangement of this version is ideal for taking notes (and there is some room for adding to the cross-references, if one desires to do so).

The TruTone cover is a nice artificial calfskin; it is so supple and soft that you will feel decadent. Two buddies who borrowed or handled mine actually commented that they wished they could afford such a nice Bible. I didn't get it to induce covetousness, but it is nice to know that SOMETHING I own might be droolworthy.

This is a fine Bible, but not perfect.

The "Single Column Reference Bible" is just two strokes off par. These have been mentioned by others, but I think deserve acknowledgment:

First and foremost, the pages are indeed thin. One particular example of this is that the bleed-through of printing from the back of each page actually is as dark as the (gray) paragraph marks on the page one is reading. I have had Bibles that had thinner pages, and one can adapt to them. Still, I am approaching the age at which I appreciate any eyesight help that I can get.

In addition, the type is a bit harder to read than that of the "Deluxe Reference Bible," being both smaller and less heavy.

Had this Bible used the paper of the "Deluxe Reference Bible," I think I would have little to criticize (except, of course, the unwieldly thickness it would then possess).

As it is, I find myself using this Bible quite often for casual verse look-up, and generally carry it to church and bible study. The note-taking space seems to be most important to me in those venues. For most reading and at-home study, I still prefer the "ESV Deluxe Reference Bible."

If you really want a Bible with room to make plenty of lengthy notes, the Single Column Reference Bible will probably be satisfactory. However if you can get by with modest note-taking space, or if bleed-through from other pages really reduces readability for you, then you would probably prefer the "Deluxe Reference" over the "Single-Column Reference."

By the way, for any Bible (including this one) that has enough bleed-through to be annoying, you might find it useful to keep a couple of sheets of black paper tucked inside the Bible. If you put one of these behind the page you are reading, the print from the backside is much less noticeable (although the whole page will sort of look gray).

ESV Thinline Bible (TruTone, Charcoal, Crown Design) Review by Jason T. Hart "Jason Hart" (Reston, VA, USA)

Crossway put this out very quickly in response to Kindle user's asking for it so they are to be commended in that respect. I will second the previous reviewer's issues with navigation, it is difficult to navigate with. I did a short test and timed myself with a paper-based Bible and the ESV on the Kindle. It took me about 5-6 seconds to look up most verses with the paper-based Bible and about 20-25 seconds on the Kindle. Nerdy, I know, but it is a good way to reference this Bible. This is more of a Kindle hardware/software issue though and not necessarily anything to fault Crossway's ESV Bible though.

I think the key to fixing this issue involves a combination of Bible publishers and Kindle software designers help. You need to be able to have the ability to search only within the book currently being read so that when I run a search it will not attempt to search all books (which is slower than searching a single book). The ability to jump immediately to the pages that contain the text I searched for rather than having to select the result from the "search results preview screen" would be good as well. Also, the Bible publishers need to have the commonly searchable names for the books of the Bible in the text so that when I search for Lam 1 I will get Lamentations 1 without having to type in Lamentations, which can take a while to type in. I know this is just partial-text searching, but that doesn't seem to function properly with the current Kindle software release (1.0 121380292 still, I haven't received 1.0.4). It also might be good for the Kindle to have the ability to search through "hidden" text. Maybe a tag could be wrapped around text that you'd like to search for but would not display while reading, this way I could search for "Psa 119:129" and I could jump directly there because this verse would have "Psa Psalm 119:129" in meta-text that is searchable but is not displayed.

I know we're only talking a few seconds to navigate, but when you are doing any kind of in-depth Bible study or if you have a pastor/preacher/teacher that likes to jump around the Bible a lot, this is actually pretty important. [...].

In summary, I would recommend this version. It might be nice to see cross-references or some of the other ESV editions that Crossway publishes (Literary Study Bible!) in the future but I'm sure these will come as the Kindle catches on.

This sub is good for a person who owns a one hundred watt amp. This sub, at loud volumes, can leave your ears hurting.
Yes, it can reproduce upper bass very well, but the sound is ear piercing. It feels like somebody poke me with a pencil right in the ears. To reduce that ear-piercing sound, I turned the box facing the back of my car's trunk. Now, the sound is out of wack. The low end is twice as loud, and the upper bass can bearly be heard. I was pleased at first, but now, I think I'm going to give this sub to my brother-in-law. I'd rather invest in a Image Dynamics CTX. I have heard good things about it in the caraudio website. A 10 inch can drop to 18 hertz. Wow!!
To sum it all up, If you are into music, I recommend you steer away from this sub. If all you want is to add a little bass to make you music more complete, then this is the deal. (efficient and affordable)

This is a great little printer: fast, quiet, nice quality prints. The problem with this printer is the cost of the toner. $70 for 2500 copies is absurd! Samsung reasoning seems to be "sell the printer really cheap and then make a bundle by screwing buyers on the toner."

My frustration level with this printer and Samsung customer service is at blood vessel bursting levels so I will try to calm down as I write this review. First, I have had this printer for about 4 weeks before it has stopped working. I printed less than 30 pages. A fuser-error code appears and the pop up advice to shut it off to cool down does not work. I called customer service 4 times today. With each agent on the desk, I received different answers on how to proceed with a repair/refund. Some agents were simply moronic, some pleasant and helpful. An agent informed me that I could simply request a full refund and all the agents are aware of this. When this agent walked my call over to his supervisor to assist me with this refund, thinking this would be a nice gesture, she told me that they do not offer refunds. Another agent suggested I drive the printer to Long Beach CA for a repair since they will not send me an shipping label as there is a repair facility nearby. I live on the east coast. When I called the shop nearby I heard an earful about Samsung products and service and was advised to buy HP or Brother next time.

Five minutes ago another repair shop 22 miles away called my office to inquire how they could be of assistance with my broken camera. Thank you Samsung!

printer was initially inexpensive to purchase, print quality is good, speed is good.

BUT, the replacement cartridge was expensive at $92 and it claimed to average 1500 sheets.

i was able to get only about 700 sheets out of it before it was empty - just a few hundred more than the cartridge that came with the machine and less than half of the claimed average.

i'm not sure if this was a lemon of a replacement cartridge but samsung support was unwilling to replace it for me as the cartridge is considred a 'consumable'.

so far this machine is more expensive to operate than the old inkjet i was using prior- at about 13 cents per sheet.

i'm considering returning this machine as it so far is not doing the job it was claimed it could do.

This is a great remote as long as you know how you intend to use it. Like the description says, this remote can be programmed for 4 devices and supports just one activity (the "watch tv" function). Note that this is a no-frills version of the Harmony remotes. If you're used to Harmony remotes, you'll likely be disappointed. It uses the Logitech database of devices for programming the remote, but it automatically assigns devices to function buttons and this cannot be changed in the software. My receiver got assigned to the "DVD" button and my htpc to the "VCR/Aux" button--not very intuitive, obviously. Aside from the one activity button, it basically functions like a universal remote, albeit a very high quality one.

I got the 300i to use with my htpc running win 7 media center, a Pioneer receiver, and a Vizio HD tv. Here's the most important part: since my htpc drives everything in my living room, I only need one "activity" button. That means I hardly ever use the separate device buttons.

Build quality is impressive. It feels solid, buttons are easy to push and have a nice amount of travel. With the 300i, you get a glossy chassis that looks great but it is a fingerprint magnet. My main gripe is the absence of backlit buttons: only the device buttons light up momentarily when pushed. But then again, you're getting the most inexpensive remote of the Harmony line.

Setup is easy, as long as you're patient.

1. Attach the remote to your pc with the included USB cable
2. Go to the website and download the software (which opens in your web browser)
3. Follow the prompts to add your devices (use "Microsoft Media Center SE" as the device for your WMC htpc). The software prompts you with make and models.
4. If it doesn't have the device in the database, it will learn the basic commands directly from your existing remote.
5. You can customise the buttons for each device. If there are buttons on your original remote that were not imported, you can teach them to the 300i. I had no problem doing this with my old Microsoft remote.
6. You can program the "watch tv" button to turn on any combination of your devices. I set it to turn on the tv, receiver, and wake the pc from sleep. The button also turns off the tv and receiver and puts the htpc to sleep.
7. Finally, you can set the volume controls to be handled by any device. I have the 300i set to use my receiver exclusively for all volume regardless of which device is selected.
8. Sync the remote and disconnect from the pc. That's it. Took me maybe 20 minutes.

It just works. As soon as it was configured, I showed my wife and she was thrilled: "you mean I don't have to get up to turn everything on and off?!" In fact, the one button to turn everything on and off is exactly why I got this remote as I don't need other activities.

The only "issues" thus far are mostly related to adapting to a new device. First, the 300i has a good broadcast range but sometimes it misses a device. I think this is because I'm used to holding my old remote at a different angle. Adjusting the angle slightly fixes the problem.

Second, you can't push the buttons rapid fire. There's a momentary lag after each button push. Again, this is only noticeable while adjusting from using my old remote. It doesn't really affect normal usage, even while skipping through commercials in recorded tv shows.

Third, the Logitech software requires you to register to use the software. This only requires an email address and password. If you have more than one remote, however, you will need to register each one separately (with a different email address for each). I don't understand why Logitech couldn't design the software to use multiple devices per email address. This isn't a problem in my little house, but people with multiple systems in multiple rooms might take issue with this.

On the whole, I'm very please with this remote and I have no problem recommending it. Just know WHY you're getting it, and you won't be disappointed.

I could not be more pleased with the ease of use. Once connected to the internet the step by step directions were child's play. My only regret is that it didn't have six modes instead of only 4.

It even works with my AV Switch, Roku, Dish Network, and Visio 47" HD TV.

This is a great multi-function remote. Very easy to program using their on-line web site, and the supplied USB cable. You can check and see if this remote will duplicate your particular equipment before purchasing. It allows for 1 source volume control for all of the devices. Initial programming takes about 4-5 minutes, but simple one button changes only take a few seconds after initial set-up. The online software remembers your settings.

What I like about this remote: 5 Stars for...
Ease of programming for all devices.
Easy to add/change button functions.
Easy to hold, very ergonomically designed.
Plenty of buttons to do almost everything.
Good price if you don't have more than 4 devices to control.
A friend found one at Best Buy for under $30.

What I don't like about it: 3 stars for....
Buttons are too small and close to each other.
The markings and fonts on the keys are too small.
It would be great if all the buttons lit up when using.
Very hard to find your place on the remote in a dim lit room.
Black buttons on a black shell makes them almost invisible.

It is very nice and you would be hard pressed to find one this good for the money.

I ordered three of these cartridges, and only one of them actually worked. The first cartridge I installed printed consistently streaky pages, even after multiple cleanings and reinstallations. The second cartridge worked, but only for about a month of light printing. The third cartridge wasn't even recognized by my printer, so I couldn't use it.

Stay away from this 'budget' brand. You really do get what you pay for, which is nothing.

I bought this replacement for my M1330 as the original battery died. It fit perfectly and holds its charge just fine. I get less than 2 hrs of use, but this is expected with my m1330. I also have a 9-cell battery which gets about 3 hrs of use. For $30 you can't go wrong!

I bought this battery because the original Dell one was at the end of its life.
As a matter of fact, it required 6 hours to charge, and 50 minutes to discharge completely.
Whats funny is that the new battery was no better at all!
Its just a physical replacement, not more.
I dont recommend it to anyone.

Bought this to use with a new high-end, Windows 7, PC (ordered without a 56k modem so as not to waste an expansion slot). This Hiro installed easily. Works well. Those that might claim it is "slow" appear to be misguided. The unit easily meets it's claimed specs. NOTE: while the picture of this unit doesn't show it, it DOES come with a USB cable for the PC connection.

Iv seen a lot of people who seem to have issues with this modem getting the voice functionality to work... It *IS* voice compatible.. But its the way Agere licenses this as a "value added" feature to particular vendors modems that is causing the difficulty

I have LONG, STRAIGHT hair that is hard to hold curl. After using my mother's hot air brush that has a rubber-type barrel and dates back to the early 1990's, I searched EVERYWHERE for one like it because it is perfect for my hair type--long, straight and fine. The closest I came to finding one like my mother's was this one (Helen of Troy 1" Model #1574R). The metal barrels do NOT give my hair ANY body or even any curl. Nothing! But this plastic-type barrel gives me softness OR curl, depending on how long I hold it in place. The rubber-type or plastic-type barrel has proven the absolute best for my type of hair. I bought the 1" at an Ulta store this week and am now on Amazon to buy a 1.5" because my hair is so long on the bottom that I want the smaller one to use on the top and sides of my hair and the larger one to use on the bottom. I highly recommend this product because the barrel is so much more conducive to providing body and/or curl to my very straight, fine, hair!!!

My hair is very very thin.I have been looking for a hot air brush that not damage my thin hair. It has to be with a non metal barrel. When I found this Helen of Troy I though it was it. And, in fact, I was right. It curls my hair soft and nicely. I love it. I will recommend to every one who want to take well care of their hair.
